Issues Faced by Black and Minority Ethnic Social Enterprises

From the "BEST (Benefiting the Economy and Society Through) Procurement" series

The aim of this guide is to discuss some of the main issues facing Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) owned or led social enterprises seeking to sell to the public sector, particularly the barriers they may face and the ways in which these barriers might be addressed. The suggested methods include: production of a simple procurement guide, BME organisations joining up to form partnerships, and engaging BME business support organisations in running regular ‘meet the buyer’ events.
