This paper is one in a series planned to examine the emergence of venture philanthropy in Europe, and examine prospects for its future development.

The project begins with a survey of the landscape, following an intense period of innovation internationally. It is then looks more closely at the development of new financial mechanisms and undertake a feasibility study into aspects of social equity markets. In particular here, it examines the opportunities in the present and future, as well as the obstacles, for venture philanthropy in Europe. It also touches on a comparative study of the legal forms in getting access to capital.
