A Boost for the World’s Poorest Schools
The goal of putting millions more children in school in the world's poorest places has been a huge success. The next task is making sure they learn. This articles highlights the work of Literacy Boost, a program from Save the Children that is now in schools in 12 countries and expanding to 6 more next year. The program trains teachers in effective teaching methods, works with villagers to create out-of-the-classroom support for reading in families and communities, and carries out rigorous assessments.
