Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P)
This document places private sector development (PSD) within the context of donor nation strategies for poverty reduction. It examines in particular pro-poor PSD, or 'poverty reducing growth', and how a focus on this can be operationalized in SIDA's development policies.
The document further provides useful literary background on questions such as 'what is private sector development?' and 'why private sector development?' and examines the fundamentals of pro-poor PSD - useful frameworks within which many social enterprises can place themselves in the field of PSD and poverty alleviation.
